An investigation has been launched after a man died while being arrested in Levin yesterday evening.
The man, in his 60s, collapsed after police, responding to a report of disorderly behaviour, told him he was going to be arrested.
He was placed in the recovery position, but his condition deteriorated and ambulance staff called to the Bristol Street house could not revive him.
A post-mortem would be carried out and the Independent Police Complaints Authority is investigating.
