A Whangarei man charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in a city stream appeared in court today.
The names of the 29-year-old accused and the 21-year-old victim, who were known to each other, were suppressed, Whangarei police said.
The man was remanded to reappear in court on Monday.
The woman's body was removed from the Waiarohia stream by Tarewa Road early yesterday.
Scene examinations are continuing and part of the area remains cordoned off.
