Man questioned over firearms incident

A man is being questioned by police after a firearms incident that occurred in the Auckland suburb of Mt Albert at about 10:30am today.

The Armed Offenders Squad was called to a suburban address in Fontenoy Street after reports of a man being armed with a gun.

A man drove away while the area was being cordoned off, but was pulled over and detained.

No shots were fired in the incident.

The street has now reopened after being cordoned off for several hours.
