Harawira says he doesn't feel safe yet

Mana Party leader Hone Harawira looks set to win the Te Tai Tokerau seat, and while he says he “doesn’t feel safe yet” the party is preparing to celebrate their hard work regardless of the result.

“I’ve worked as hard as I can… we’ve got no money, but we’ve got a lot of energy,” he says.

“Unfortunately as you guys are here we’ve had to tell everyone to shut up until the media interviews are over – then we’re going to party hard.”

Mr Harawira looks likely to be the only Mana MP in Parliament: at the time of writing, no other Mana candidates lead in their electorates, and the party has 0.9 percent of the vote.
