The Manawatu Gorge road has been closed to traffic because of a new slip.
The New Zealand Transport Agency website says the gorge is closed in both directions for safety reasons.
Detour routes are in place via Saddle Road or Pahiatua Track.
An update on the road’s status will be given at 9am on Sunday.
