A man's death at the scene of a fight in South Auckland yesterday morning was from natural causes, police say.

Police found the 59-year-old man unconscious when they were called to a fight at Primrose Place in Manurewa at 2:15am yesterday.

They conducted CPR but were unable to revive him.

Police initially treated his death as suspicious but on Sunday said a post-mortem had confirmed the man died of natural causes.

The father-of-six died as he tried to stop a brawl outside his home, the Herald on Sunday reported.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.

If the man died as a result of a crime being committed - ie a fight going on in a public place - then it is murder. Are the police really that lazy?
