Maori Party co-leader Tariana Turia is standing in one of the safest seats in the country, Te Tai Hauauru.

She spoke to Dan Parker about the election campaign, Hone Harawira, and what comes next for the Maori Party’s “exciting young candidates”.

Representing Maori is still the party’s main priority, she says, but it hasn’t been an easy race.

“We certainly haven’t felt easy about this election – we’ve known that we had to work hard, and we’ve done that.”
