The court held the landowner didn't own the water. We have had no water ownership court case clearer than this in hundreds of years.

With the signing of the treaty Maori gained the rights of british subjects, including that nobody owned water, plus nobody owns the waterways and riverbeds. This claim is a breach of the treaty. Maori have been breeching the treaty for 170 years - nothing new. We like South Africa should remove all racist legislation that holds one race as more priviledged than others.

What did Maori do traditionally with the riverbed to claim it?

This is just asking for more priviledge than any non-Maori has, and with it money.

Here in NZ we had what was known as the 'queens chain' that went along every river edge etc so nobody even owned the land to the waterway. This was partly an enviromental protection as this land to the edge of rivers etc was crown land.

Its obvious this is just another in a long line of manufactured bullshit claims to cost NZ at the expense of racism for the benefit of a few elite Maori while the rest of NZ pays, and pays (including Maori in general).

Here we have Maori claiming ownership of water, and wanting to charge/deprive others water rights on racist grounds.

Will they pay for any water damages as with ownership go responsibility. Any flood or drought, even higher electricity prices could be charge to the owner of water. ETS could also be aplpied to an owner of water, as cows breathing is being introduced becuase cows are 'owned' and make the owners responsible. Insurance paid out in the last 170+ years, as with every piece of historical damage could be on-charged with any historical ownership.
