A crash has ended Marc Willers' hopes of being in the medal hunt in the men's BMX at the London Olympics.

Willers was in third place in the first of his semi-final races when he crashed on a technical part of the 450m-long course.

The 26-year-old Cambridge rider appeared to land heavily on his shoulder and was unable to finish the race.

He lined up in the second race, but was slowest out of the gate, finishing last and ending his chance of booking one of the eight places in the final.

He did not race his third semi-final.
