Fonterra has recalled three of its cheese products after a piece of metal was found in a packet.
The Mainland brand 500g, 700g and 1kg Tasty cheeses were recalled today after a metal fragment was found in one pack, Fonterra General Manager (Marketing and Innovation) Dominic Quin says.
180,000 blocks of cheese have been affected by the recall.
There have been no reports of anyone being injured or becoming ill, Mr Quin says, and the voluntary recall is “a precautionary measure” to avoid compromising customer health and safety.
Consumers should return the products to the point of purchase – including the packaging and batch code – for a full refund.
