The Australian Rugby Union says Wallabies centre Pat McCabe will miss at least the first month of the inaugural Rugby Championship due to a stress fracture to his lower left leg.
The injury was confirmed by scans in Sydney and will see McCabe sidelined for between four and six weeks.
The ARU says there are no plans to replace McCabe in the training squad currently in camp at Sydney.
The Rugby Championship starting August 18 replaces the annual Tri Nations tournament and includes teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina.
