maurice, you might want to learn your facts. the government does not want a party central, it has to have one under the contract that the previous government and rugby union signed to get the world cup.

I am an Aucklander and Dispise W.A.S. (Wellington Arrogance Syndrome) where they think their Fishing Village rates as some sort of an international City (NOT).

But if Auckland can not see what side its Bread is Buttered... Send the Government Budget the Party and the entire World Cup to Christchurch.

Auckland can host matches like the US versus Papua New Guinea.

That is all they deserve for being so small town, Un-Developmental and Un-receptive to becoming World Class.

The South Island welcomed development and the Cup with Open Arms.
Auckland Deserves the Snub from New Zealand for being a Backwash of a Main City.

They have Mocked the Country, the Money, the Government, the other provinces and the event, every step of the way.

Give it to Gore rather than Auckland or Milton or Clinton or Waikikamukau?

Who's the Mayor there? Get your ears on...Do you care for your City at ALL?

You can dream of the Olympics that Crippled Greece and Europe in turn and turn down the Commonwealth games as too expensive...

but Auckland now sits waiting for MEDIOCRITY to SUB Mediocrity. An international embarrassment in event hosting.

Go Southland Christchurch or Greymouth. You Deserve it!
