A former Waiouru Army Museum employee who stole hundreds of military medals from the museum has been sentenced to three years imprisonment and ordered to pay $50,000 reparation.
Keith Davies, 57, pleaded guilty on October 6 to seven charges including obtaining property by deception, false accounting and theft of 744 medals between 1995 and 2002.
Today he was sentenced to three years imprisonment and ordered to pay $50,000 reparation at Wellington District Court.
The combined value of his medal haul was $233.155 and only around 300 medals have been returned.
