Meeting our latest underwater giant

As the weather finally starts to warm up, it’s a fair bet that there will be a few prawns thrown on New Zealand’s barbies.

It’s unlikely, though, that any of them will measure up to the latest discovery from Kiwi scientists – a huge prawn-like crustacean hauled up from the mysterious Kermadec Trench.

While marine biologists try to figure out exactly what it is, Campbell Live decided to meet the creature with the surname ‘Gigantea’.
