Melanoma risk high amongst a third of Kiwis

More than a third of Kiwis have something in their history that makes them three times more susceptible to melanoma, according to the latest Trans-Tasman study.

The study identifies six factors that increase your risk of developing skin cancer – in some cases making you up to twenty times more likely to contract the deadly disease.

Molemap dermatologist Dr Mark Gray spoke to Sunrise.
