Two members of the public are being commended by the Hamilton police after intervening in a suspected indecent assault.

Workers at a golf and mini-golf course in Tauhara Park noticed worrying behaviour between a 69-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy in a vehicle.

They removed the boy and contacted police.

Investigators want to hear from anyone at the park who may have seen the pair.

They are not ruling out the possibility of other victims.
