Two services are being organised for those involved in a horror head-on road smash near National Park on Wednesday night.

Colleagues of the four Argentinean men who died are planning a memorial service this weekend, while a mass is being held to pray for the recovery of the sole survivor.

German Caceres, Nicolas Ursic, Agustin D'Onofrio, and Luciano Pucheta died when the car they were travelling in collided with a truck as they returned from a football match in Ohakune.

The sole survivor of the crash, Chilean Benjamin Blake, suffered injuries and remains in Waikato Hospital. Police have confirmed he was not the driver.

Mr Blake’s family and friends are holding a mass at a Santiago church later today to pray for a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, staff at the Whakapapa ski field where the Argentinean men were working are organising a remembrance ceremony for tomorrow afternoon.
