Men walk away from gyrocopter crash

Two men have survived a gyrocopter crash near Tauranga airport.
Their gyrocopter lost power shortly after take-off at 1:30pm, and landed in shallow water around 200m from the end of the runway.
Both men, believed to be in their 60s, were able to walk out of the water. One of the men was taken to hospital but neither of them are believed to have been seriously injured.
The incident has now been referred to the Civil Aviation Authority for investigation.
