Men are in trouble. 90 percent of the prison population is men. The rate of suicide among men is four times higher than the rate for women. 83 percent of high risk drivers are male.

Then there is health, academic achievement, mental health; the list goes on and on.

So what is gone wrong?

Those involved in men's health say the problem is obvious. Men have become disconnected from one another and are unable to express themselves.

They also say the solution is obvious. Get men together and get them talking. Not just about the rugby, but also about what they are feeling.

So are they right?

Campbell Live reporter Tristram Clayton went to experience the reality of a 'men's retreat'.
