Wu-Tang Clan star Method Man has been confined to crutches after sustaining a serious knee injury.
The rapper hobbled onstage against his manager's wishes to perform a short set with bandmates Ghostface Killah and Raekwon at New York City's Milk Studios on Thursday, vowing not to let his pain interfere with the gig.
He threw caution to the wind by jumping into the crowd to the delight of fans but later revealed to reporters at the New York Daily News he was due to undergo corrective surgery on Tuesday after tearing his meniscus.
It is not yet known how the injury occurred.
