The Government and the Green Party will not be signing an abstention agreement as John Key would have liked.

Instead, the two parties will be working together in the same way they did before the election with a memorandum of understanding.

They hope to look at their policies and come up with some common ground to work on.

Green Party co-leader Metiria Turei spoke to Firstline this morning.

Although during the election John who me, a liar Key was saying he was hoping for a memorandum of understanding with the Greens. He certainly would have preferred a confidence and supply deal with Green. Good to see the Greens stick to their ideals.
