Invercargill mum Mandy Tiplady and her husband Mike were married in March 2006 – it was, she says, the most memorable day of her life.
But memories are all that she has got; four years and two babies later, Mandy is still waiting for the photos of their big day from their wedding photographer.
Why has it taken so long? Will they get their photos?
“We definitely want our photos back and that is what it comes down to – we paid for them we want them back and sooner rather than later,” Mike says.
“They mean the world to us because they were our wedding and we want them back,” Mandy says.
That is Mike and Mandy's plea for their wedding photographs four years after they were married. They tied the knot at Invercargill’s St Therases church in March 2006.
“Everything was perfect,” Mandy says. “I couldn't stop smiling, my face was so sore afterwards. Everything was amazing.”
Their wedding photographer was Gayle Hogue, a local lady from Riverton.
“[Gayle] was very good, on the ball with ideas, nice ideas with different colours accommodating to what we wanted,” Mandy says. “She was on time and really a pleasure to work with on the day.”
Mike and Mandy had signed a deal with Ms Hogue and paid her $1,255. The contract detailed what she would photograph and what the package included.
“That she would take the photos and then she would get proof albums back to us – which she did and then we were to choose some photos to put in the main album,” Mandy says.
Soon after the wedding, Ms Hogue did deliver the proof albums as promised – but Mike and Mandy hit a hiccup.
