Teen superstar Miley Cyrus has been caught on camera swearing at a rude fan while on a recent vacation in Costa Rica.
The singer/actress was making her way to board a helicopter with her Aussie boyfriend Liam Hemsworth when the couple was stopped by a group of devotees eager for autographs and photos.
Cyrus graciously posed with the youngsters, but, as the pair tried to excuse themselves to board the aircraft, one angry fan cried out, "Asshole!"
In video footage of the incident, which has since surfaced online, a stunned Cyrus can be seen whipping around and shouting back, "What the f**k? Are you for real?", before greeting other waiting fans as she walked over to the chopper.
Cyrus has explained her outburst, insisting she "can't tolerate that kind of rudeness".
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Been trying not to tweet & just enjoy the holidays but just to clear something up I would never swear to a fan. When someone yells something so rude making me look like an 'asshole' in front of fans who I am more than happy 2 take a picture w/ (with) I can't tolerate that kind of rudeness. Every1 (sic) who was there apologised 4 (sic) the woman's brusque behaviour. She obviously wasn't a fan. Hope every1 has a Merry Christmas!"
