It's been reported in the media that the taxpayer will be picking up a large bill to get the Novopay system fixed. Tell me why the taxpayer would pay for a contract that a company has been paid millions of dollars to implement!?

It's easy to say, “Each pay period is actually different. When you’ve got 92,000 teachers to be paid, 10,000 different combinations of pay across 13 award, it is a very, very complex system.” But why is it that the previous payroll system worked despite these complexities that seem beyond the capacity of this new company? They should just sack them, reinstate the system that worked and ask the Australian company for compensation for all of the harm done, including the stress for the staff which has now gone on for several months! Just not good enough. What the heck is Parata doing about it - just hiding behind her associate?
