The Ministry of Health says it is confident it will continue to bring down the rate of women falsely cleared of having cervical cancer.

The Ministry is re-examining its cervical screening programme, after a woman with terminal cancer repeatedly received normal smear test results.

For one in five women, their abnormal cells can be missed or mis-interpreted.

The Ministry also plans to review its advertising campaign and ensure patients are aware of both the benefits and limitations of the test.
