About 500 people have gathered to farewell Moko, the dolphin that entertained thousands but passed away last week.
The memorial parade is starting at a Whakatane Reserve and will proceed through the town.
Tomorrow Moko will be laid to rest at Matakana Island, just a few kilometres from Tauranga harbour, where his body was found.
