Hi all. I know I'm the entertainment guy, but at the moment I've got worms on the mind. Mongolian Death Worms.

Next Tuesday I depart with my friend and colleague Christie Douglas (and experienced cameraperson) for Mongolia - more specifically, the Gobi desert.

There we'll be meeting up with a guide, a cook and a translator - to make a documentary about this terrifying creature.

According to the locals, it 1.5 metres long, spits acid and fires lightning bolts from it's rectum.

Anyway, I'll be absent from Nightline for about a month while I'm looking for the worm, and shooting the doco. Not sure what internet access is like the desert, but at the very least I'll update you on my return. Wish us luck!

David Farrier here, and I like odd things. That's probably a bit broad, but it's true.
 
I like odd music, odd films, odd people and odd creatures.
 
I try to find them and then tell other people about them. That's all I do really.
 
I'm not sure if this is journalism or not, but it seems to be working out OK so far.
