Monster director Patty Jenkins has emerged as the odd favourite to pick up the Thor movie franchise from Kenneth Branagh.
Jenkins, who also directed episodes of TV shows Entourage and Arrested Development, is leading the race to take charge of Thor 2 when it starts shooting next spring.
Branagh's Thor was a big hit when it was released in cinemas earlier this year. It featured Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-wielding, ancient Marvel comic book superhero, Natalie Portman and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
