There's a better out look for job hunters.

Recruitment website Seek says 10 percent more jobs were listed on the site in December.

Job listings were particularly strong in Christchurch, up more than 50 percent.
General manager of Seek, Janet Forwarding says the current environment isn't bad for potential employees.

"While job opportunities continue to grow, the number of active job seekers has not," she says.

Ms Forwarding says an increase in the number of human resources jobs advertised shows that companies are looking to hire more people in the new year.

It is natural that given money is being funnelled into the Christchurch rebuild that they would have an increase of jobs, this article is not very accurate and appears to be bias against 'job seekers' as I am sure a lot of people would rather not live in an earthquake prone region when they could travel overseas to Australia and work for better money.
