The family of a missing Christchurch teenager who turned 16 on Thursday has appealed for him to make contact.
Hayden Miles has not been in contact with family since going missing on August 22.
He was last seen in the Linwood area on that day.
His
mother, Jacqui Miles, says the whole family is "worried sick" about
Hayden, and that it is unusual for him not to have been in contact with
anyone.
She says the family simply want to know he is safe and
well and sheurges that he, or anyone knowing where he is, make contact
with family or police so they can be assured he is safe.
Hayden
is described as caucasian of thin build, 170cm tall, with dark hair and
was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
Christchurch
Police say concerns are held for Hayden's safety as he has a history of
depression and has not been in contact with family or friends for a
long period.
"It's now more than two months since Hayden was heard from," says Detective Sergeant Sarah Illingworth.
"There's
no indication at this stage that he has come to any harm, but his
family, and police, are concerned for his safety and wellbeing.
"We urge Hayden to make contact with us through any police station."
Police
have been following up various sightings and information on the
possible whereabouts of Hayden but to date have been unable to confirm
his whereabouts or safety.
