The Muppets' hit cover of Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' is being released as a digital single – and is the bookies' favourite to hit #1 on the UK singles chart over Christmas.

Since debuting on YouTube a few weeks ago, the video has been viewed almost 10 million times. It features appearances from most of the Muppets' best-loved characters, including Animal, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Beaker, Fozzie Bear and Gonzo (not to mention his brood of hens).

The song will face some stiff competition however. The winner of UK talent show The X Factor will be releasing their debut song, tipped to be a Miley Cyrus cover, and Rage Against the Machine fans have launched a campaign to get the rap-metal band's classic track 'Killing In The Name Of' to #1.

'Bohemian Rhapsody' has twice been the UK's #1 Christmas single - on original release in 1975, and again in 1991.

X Factor winners have taken out the #1 spot every year since 2005. Can the Muppets end their reign of terror?
