A 21-year-old Hamilton man is due to appear in court this morning charged with murdering Ngaruawahia infant Serenity Jay Scott.
The Waikato Times reported Serenity's mother Chelsea Scott, 21, and her partner Mathew Ellery, also 21, were taken to Hamilton Police station for questioning yesterday afternoon.
Ellery was subsequently charged.
Serenity was taken to Starship Hospital with critical injuries after being found unresponsive at the Havelock Road home in April 2011.

She was six-months-old when she died at the hospital, where police and medical staff believe injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome.
