This well-known label was started by Trelise Cooper in 1985 and has now diversified into three labels – Trelise Cooper, Cooper by Trelise and Trelise Cooper kids.
Cooper also has a jewellery line, a perfume and a fabric collection.
The first Trelise Cooper branded store opened in 1997 in Auckland.
Trelise Cooper’s designs are described as “clothes that turn shy girls into sirens, not for shrinking violets”.
Her clothes have been worn by celebrities such as Liv Tyler, Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan and Julia Roberts and featured in magazines such as Vogue and Marie Claire.
The latest Air New Zealand uniform was designed by Cooper and she has also designed school uniforms.
Cooper was made a Member of the New Zealand Order for Merit for her services to the fashion industry in 2004.
