A West Auckland mail delivery branch has been evacuated after a small amount of white powder was discovered.
About two teaspoons of the substance, which has not yet been identified, was found in mail at the New Lynn delivery branch of New Zealand Post on Thursday morning.
The building has been evacuated and the room where the powder was found has been isolated, a fire service spokesman told NZ Newswire.
Ambulance staff are keeping an eye on two people who may have been exposed to the powder.
The fire service hazardous materials unit, the army and police are also at the scene.
