New Zealand dance crew Request has won the Hip Hop World Championship in Las Vegas.

Dancers from 28 countries battled for the top honours.

But it was the all-girl kiwi group which came though to win the adult section, after winning the varsity award last year.

Fellow male hip hoppers Dziah were on hand to celebrate the victory, treating the Vegas crowd to a haka in honour of the Request team.

“Seeing it made me just so proud to be from New Zealand,” said Request dancer Parris Goebel told the Las Vegas Weekly.

“Going into this competition, we really just wanted to represent our country well.

“Honestly, we didn’t think we had a chance,” said Goebel.
