New Zealand has signed tax information exchange agreements (TIEAs) with another three jurisdictions, Revenue Minister Peter Dunne said today.

TIEAs are bilateral treaties that allow full exchange of information on civil and criminal tax matters between two countries.

The new agreements are with the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands and Gibraltar.

Mr Dunne said they brought the number of agreements New Zealand had signed this year to eight.

TIEAs are part of an international strategy to combat organised crime, money laundering and tax evasion.
