Funny how that most of the dusgustubg 'I hate the refugees' comments here are from Labour supporters / John Key Haters. They try to tell you how sharing and caring they are- well a that's a lot of crap. Just showing their true colors I suppose which is selfishness, jealousy, a non sharing and caring philosophy and a gimme gimme attitude.

Don't be fooled by the make over of Julie Gillard, this is a woman who not only stabbed her leader at the time,Kevin Rudd in the back, and then blatantly lied to the Australian public and now has referred the asylum seeker issue as a regional problem.Ahh sorry Julie its not a regional problem, its Australia's problem and now its being fobbed off to NZ.The asylum issue has created big problems in Australia because they have failed to deal with the issue, its like big brother telling little brother, this is what's happening,or i'll smack you round the ears.

@steve West. Refugees are not "illegals" they have a legal right to claim refugee status on arrival. They cant get visas because there are often no embassies etc where they come from.

Julia Gillard seems to be a nice enough person. But as soon as she opens her mouth to speak I cringe and reach for the remote control to turn off the volume. I truly think that's our problem when it comes to PMs.We all go for their looks rather than their brains.

Tax funded retreat. No thanks, we know your country has problems, but that’s not our fault. I don’t see why NZ should be held to account for it.
