A $A120,000 ($NZ155,000) deposit on a watch is among assets frozen by authorities investigating an expatriate New Zealander accused of defrauding his Queensland Health employers.

Lawyers for the Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) appeared in the Supreme Court in Brisbane on Wednesday for the second time in as many weeks to secure a restraining order against Hohepa Morehu-Barlow.

This is the fifth such order made against Morehu-Barlow, also known as Joel Barlow, who was arrested in December and charged with defrauding the government department of $A11 million.

The amount was upgraded this week to more than $A16.6 million.

Barlow also faces seven other charges including possessing drugs, falsifying records and official misconduct.

His lawyer Adam Magill has indicated Barlow will plead guilty to the charges.

Court documents made publicly available on Thursday revealed that 20 more items were frozen by the CMC this week.

They include a 2007 black Audi registered in Barlow's sister's name, furniture, jewellery and clothing.

The CMC also preserved the $A120,000 deposit paid for a Louis Vuitton watch and $A50,000 given or lent to one of Barlow's associates.

The documents also listed more than $4000 in cash.

Previously the CMC has seized a New Farm property, accounts at several banks, cars, art works and items including jet skis, furniture and a piano.

One of the cars seized - a 2004 silver BMW - was this week returned to its owner after the CMC determined it had not been purchased with money from Barlow.

The seized assets now total about $A12 million.
