If there are trillions of stars in space and 1 percent of those stars have the conditions suitable to sustain life, then perhaps 1 percent of those suitable actually contain lifeforms of some description, there's still going to be millions of planets sustaining life. Maybe 1 percent of those lifeforms are intellegent? Regardless, I don't think we'll find out in our lifetime's.
