New Zealand On Screen is celebrating New Zealand Music Month by making some of the country's best music videos available online for free.
The music videos will join the library of 400 home-grown movies and television shows that are already available on the site.
Broadcaster James Coleman had the challenging task of selecting 70 of the country's best music videos to go on the website.
"We've compiled a comprehensive list of clips that are a one-stop shop," Coleman explains. "You can go there, you can see some of the finest music video work you're ever likely to see in New Zealand all in one spot and in really good quality."
Irene Gardiner has the even more difficult job of being the content director for the entire website.
"We have nostalgic gems, we also have popular favourites," she says. "And then we also have titles that you describe as either artistically, culturally or historically significant."
The website was launched in October last year and is fully funded by New Zealand On Air, and they hope to make as much local content as they can available online for free.
"It's to do with the rights situation, with people who own the production, whether we can have the full show or whether we just have the excerpt," Ms Gardiner says. "It also depends a little bit on how old the programme is."
While it is still early days for the website, they have already had over 120,000 hits and many users have added it to their favourites.
"It is very much the nostalgic favourites," explains Ms Gardiner. "Things like episode one of Gloss, Billy T James material, Hudson and Halls, episode one of Spot On. They're very, very popular."
The music videos will be uploaded to the website later in the month.
