Oh rubbish, National never proposed mining the parks. They proposed opening up tiny areas for exploration. Any mining was at least 5 years (and 2 elections) away and would have had to go through all the usual resource management consents, red tape and other rubbish people have to go through to try and make a living in this country. National and Labour might have some good spin doctors, but Duncan you beat them hands down. You seem to be able to spin gold out of straw better than Rumplestiltskin.

The real problem as i see it is this statement from brownlee "The mandate that comes out of this is mining on non Schedule 4 areas," Mr Brownlee says." How does he figure that out? seems to me the mandate is no mining not mine somewhere else? If he wants a mandate make it an election issue. funny i didn't hear anything about mining during the last election.
