A refugee family from Bhutan say they have been driven out of their state house by neighbours from hell.
They claim their neighbours have abused them, urinated on their lawns and thrown dog food at their house, but Housing New Zealand says it can't help as it has got nowhere else to put them.
The family came to New Zealand 18 months ago, but what they hoped would be the start of a new life has turned into a nightmare.
"They come up to our gate and write very bad words," says Girdhari Kadariya, "like, 'f… you migrant', and they write something bad, and when we ask their parents why they are doing so, they simply say, 'Oh they are children.'"
Mr Kadariya says the neighbours' children would throw dog food at their house and water bombs at the children.
"When they go out they will put meat in their pocket and come and urinate in the ground."
But one of the children's mothers disputes the allegations.
"No use being scared, they've just made up a whole lot of lies," says Rochaine Eyles. "They've made up a whole lot of lies and they don't need to be scared of nothing. The only problem they're scared of is little kids."
But she does admit to having a problem with her neighbours.
"In my eyes they're just getting to pick and choose where they want to live, and we've got Kiwis out there on this big waiting list for Housing New Zealand, like myself, and I can't get nowhere 'cause they're taking all these homes, and if they don't fit with the neighbours, they want out, then we gotta wait longer."
Despite continuing to pay rent to Housing New Zealand, Mr Kadariya and his family say they have been forced to live in his parents' one bedroom flat because they have been given no other options.
Housing New Zealand says they do not do short term housing.
"If we have tenants or applicants who do need crisis housing, we often can assist with that, but it's a long-term housing solution, it's not emergency short-term housing," says Sarah Hill.
The Kadariyas fled their home three weeks ago. All they want now is a new home to finally start their new lives.
