Transport

Toll roads should be used as a last resort.

Upgrade highways to accommodate trucks.

Improve rural roading.

Introduce compulsory third-party insurance.

KiwiRail cannot be sold.

Investigate the performance of the Interislander ferries.

Expand coastal shipping and ensure vessels are New Zealand registered and employ New Zealand residents/citizens.

Education

Increase participation rates in ECE and develop Parents as First Teacher programme.

Review teacher’s workload.

Improve access to education in rural areas.

Introduce a universal student allowance and will match student repayments on loans.

Urgently review National Standards and abolish National Standards for ECE.

Deliberately foster a sense of national pride in schools.

Law and Order

Ban all criminal gangs.

Increase police numbers and restore public confidence in them.

Increase the number of police dogs and trainers.

Conduct a study into recidivism.

Prisoners will be required to work a 40 week whilst in prison.

Reduce criminal numbers, reduce prison numbers and reduce the number of new prisons being built.

Economy (incl. tax)

The first $5200 of annual income is tax-free.

Raise minimum wage to $15 per hour.

Reduce business compliance costs.

GST is reduced to 12.5 percent and removed from rates.

Expand development banking and venture capital opportunities.

Reduce red tape so New Zealand businesses are more internationally competitive.

Develop the Buy New Zealand Made campaign.

The Government can veto the sale of any former-state asset.

Prioritise the New Zealand superannuation fund to purchase shares in New Zealand companies.

Guarantee the first $100,000 of investment in New Zealand-owned banks by New Zealanders.

Drastically reduce the sale of land to foreigners.

Oppose the partial listing of Fonterra.

Environment

Mandate state-owned power companies to deliver affordable electricity.

Encourage the development of eco-tourism centres.

Investigate alternatives to rubbish disposal.

1080 poison scrapped for other forms of pest control.

Promote organic farming.

Clear labelling of GM foods.

Urgent interim standards for oil drilling and exploration.

Push for the banning of all whaling.

Social Welfare

Focus on the health and well-being of children under six.

Reinstate a community wage.

Scrutinise the benefit system.

Ensure that fairness, justice, timeliness and consistency are universal principles of state welfare payments.

Increase funding to Women’s Refuge.

Asset Sales

No asset sales

Foreign Policy

Continue the interest in the Pacific region and develop relationships in the greater Asia-Pacific region.

Strongly support the UN.

Maintain defence force roles in international affairs.

Maintain RNZ’s international service.

Limit foreign investment in strategic assets to 24.9 percent.

Health

Increase health funding so it is 10 percent of GDP.

Merge DHBs to keep administration costs down.

Reduce international student numbers at medical schools.

Restore focus on prevention.

More health services for rural areas.

Pay parity between elder-care nurses and general nurses.  

Maori

Policy is based on need, not race.

Encourage Maori to build houses on collectively owned land.

Ensure that the Maori Language Commission protects Maori language and culture.
