New Zealand boy dies in Fiji shooting

3News NZ

A six-year-old boy from Auckland has died in a shooting accident in Fiji.

The boy was pronounced dead on arrival at Lautoka Hospital and a 14-year-old student, also involved in the incident at 6pm local time yesterday, was in a critical condition, FijiLive reports.

The family is building a house at Sabeto Hill in Fiji and was inspecting the property with a relative who owns a gun used for hunting.

"They heard the sound of a gunshot and rushed to the vehicle where the gun was kept and saw the two injured and rushed them to hospital," the website reported.
