New Zealand’s permanent representative to the UN, Jim McLay

Our Government is lobbying for a seat on the United Nations Security Council in 2015/2016.

The Council is made up of five permanent members and 10 others, elected for two-year terms.

The last time New Zealand sat on the Council was in 1993.

The Nation spoke to New Zealand’s permanent representative to the UN, Jim McLay, and began by asking him “what is in this for us?”.
