New Zealand is not the first place that springs to mind when you think "murder mystery".
 
With our sunny shores and rolling hills you could say we're better suited to sporty tales than dark dramas.
 
But now two Kiwi authors have brought the two together for their debut novels blending the crime genre with the rugby and equestrian worlds.
 
So do they deserve gold? Sunrise’s resident bookworm Gail Woodward shares her verdict.
