A 72-year-old might be the world's shortest man.

Chandra Bahadur Dangi was born and brought up in a remote village of Dang District in Western Nepal. He is believed to be 56cm tall, while the current record holder is 60cm tall.

The Guinness Book of World records only became aware of the potential record holder due to recent media reports.

They are sending representatives to Kathmandu to verify whether he can indeed be given the title.

The Guinness team is expected to arrive this week.
