CBS reporter Bill Plante gets to grips with 'new media' at the Republican Convention

The Republican convention was covered by a wide variety of media organisations, many of which didn't even exist at the last election.

When actor Clint Eastwood delivered his rambling “invisible Obama” monologue to an empty chair, Twitter exploded with mocking comments. The resulting media coverage sucked coverage away from Mitt Romney’s keynote speech that followed.

So what is all the “new media” fuss about? CBS, one of the oldest names in broadcasting, sent one of their long-time reporters into the brave new media world.
