Imagine the following scenario: upon boarding a flight, you notice that you’re seated next to the man or woman of your dreams. You strike up a conversation, discuss your travel plans and then before you know it, the flight’s over and you’re headed into the arrival lounge... wishing you’d had the courage to exchange contact details before the captain switched the seatbelt sign off.

Wish no more – a new website, We Met on a Plane, aims to bring together people who made a connection during flights but didn’t exchange contact details.

31 year-old Australian Will Scully-Power set up the site after meeting his girlfriend during a flight last year, and says the service will help the thousands of people who want to track down their travel companions.

“4,400 people search for 'met on a plane' in Google globally every month,” he says.

“There was no way until now for anyone to connect with someone they met on a plane without knowing their name.”

Hopeful romantics can search the site by flight number, date, origin or destination. The site will then display stories posted by people who travelled within the criteria specified.
