A researcher at the British Library has been bringing the voices of old authors back to life.

Richard Fairman has unearthed recordings of British writers such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Virginia Woolf and JRR Tolkein.

Most of the authors were recorded by the BBC and there were also many giants of American literature.

Henry Miller, Arthur Miller and even Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck have been restored.
